Een in Craiova woonachtige dierenbeschermster genaamd Ramona trekt zich het lot van de zwerfhonden in haar omgeving aan. Regelmatig vindt ze zwerfhonden op haar weg. Amos werd gevonden op het treinstation van Craiova. Samen met zijn nestgenootjes (waaaronder Buddy, Charlie en Maya, ook op deze website) lag hij verscholen onder een container. Volledig hulpeloos en zonder kans op overleven. Gelukkig vond Ramona de pupjes op tijd en kon ze ze in veiligheid brengen. Sinds enkele weken verblijven ze in haar asieltje en krijgen ze de (medische) verzorging die ze nodig hebben. Charlie en Maya zijn al in Nederland. Binnenkort zijn Amos (en Buddy) aan de beurt.

Hieronder het aandoenlijke verhaal van Amos, geschreven door Ramona zelf in haar eigen woorden.

“They were just tiny souls, hidden beneath a cold metal container near the train station — frightened, hungry, and completely invisible to the world. Every time they dared to peek outside in search of food or warmth, they were chased away. So they learned that people meant danger… and the only way to survive was to stay hidden.

When I found them, their little eyes were full of fear and confusion. It took time, patience, and gentle words to earn even a glimpse of trust. Getting them out from under that container wasn’t easy — but I couldn’t leave them there, living in darkness and fear.

Now they’re safe. They have food, warmth, and the company of other rescued dogs and cats. They play together, wag their tails, and slowly… very slowly… they’re beginning to believe that not all humans are cruel. Buddy has already started to let his guard down — he even wags his tail when I come near. It’s a small gesture, but to me, it’s a miracle.He is one of the brave little puppies rescued from under the container near the train station. Each day, he’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

Amos  is a fragile soul searching for the one person who can bring light back into his life. 
He is tiny and scared and he feel very good in presence of other dogs, he love to play and run togheter. He would be a perfect addition to a home with other dogs, even cats. Male around 6 months old, medium sized adult dog.

Their journey isn’t over. They still need time, patience, and most of all, love. My greatest wish is for each of them to find a family who will see beyond their fear — a family who will show them that love can heal even the deepest scars.Because every one of them deserves a chance at a beautiful life”. 

Amos kent helaas een slechte start in zijn leven. Het leerde hem maar al te vroeg dat je voor mensen bang moet zijn. Amos is nu veilig bij Ramona in de opvang maar nog steeds bang. Hij heeft iemand nodig die geduldig is, iemand die hem niet opjaagt, iemand die bereid is hem de tijd te geven die hij waarschijnlijk nodig zal hebben. Amos voelt zich op zijn gemak bij andere honden; hun aanwezigheid geeft hem een ​​gevoel van veiligheid en rust.
